Easy British flapjacks made with oats, butter, and golden syrup. Chewy, buttery, and perfect as a quick snack or afternoon treat.

Ingredients

  • 250g rolled oats
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 100g soft brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and line a baking tin.
  2. Melt butter, sugar, and golden syrup in a saucepan.
  3. Stir in the oats until fully coated.
  4. Press the mixture into the prepared tin.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden.
  6. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for a chewy texture.
  • Press mixture firmly into the tin.
  • Let cool fully before cutting.
