- 8 pork sausages
- 140g plain flour
- 4 large eggs
- 200ml milk
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan).
- Place the sausages in a baking dish with oil and cook for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, whisk flour, eggs, milk, and salt into a smooth batter.
- Remove the dish from the oven and quickly pour the batter over the sausages.
- Return to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until risen and golden.
- Serve immediately with gravy.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is very hot before adding batter.
- Do not open the oven door while baking.
- Use good-quality sausages for better flavour.
- Let the batter rest before using.
- Best served fresh from the oven.
